How Often Should I Tongue Scrape
First of all - if you are tongue scraping, congrats! You have taken the next steps in your oral care routine and your life is about to get so much better!
Tongue scraping should not replace your oral care regime but it should 100% be introduced and added (assuming you are not doing it yet).
To simply answer the question of "how often should I tongue scrape?" the easiest answer is "as often as you brush your teeth". We are hoping you brush your teeth at least twice a day! But if not, you should be.
Here is the perfect oral care routine for most people!
1) Floss your teeth. Use any floss you feel comfortable with. Floss in the am and in the pm before you go to bed.
It has been stated that flossing takes care of 30-40% of your tooth's surface. Some people even add toothpaste to their floss.
2) Brush your teeth! Use a toothpaste with fluoride in it and brush at least two times a day. Make sure to brush all quadrants of your mouth for at least 30 seconds each. This means brushing your teeth for two minutes a day.
It is a great practice to also brush the roof of your mouth, sides of your mouth and under your tongue.
3) Tongue Scrape! Now that you have removed the gunk from between your teeth and on your teeth - that gunk has gone to.... your TONGUE. Now we need to remove it. Scrape the gunk off your tongue twice a day.
Start by scraping from the back to the front as many times as you need to feel clean and comfortable.
4) Gargle. Once the above steps are done it is time to gargle for at least 30 seconds.
Voila! You are ready to start (or end) your day.
